Gingerbread House Contest The Long Valley Junior Women's Club and the Long Valley Village Association will host a Gingerbread House Contest and Display for children at Holiday Happenings on Sunday, December 7. Children or whole families are invited to enter a gingerbread creation of their own design for display and prizes. Click here to register now for free! Holiday Happenings! Along with the 22nd Annual Christmas Tree Lighting in the heart of Long Valley, get in the spirit of the season with Holiday Happenings. Festivities include horse-drawn carriage rides, hand-crafting ornaments and greeting cards, cookie-decorating, pictures with Santa, and music. Holiday Happenings will start Sunday, December 7 at 3 p.m. and extend to 6 p.m.

Dr. Michael Hyjek (Dr. Mike) of Valley Chiropractic & Wellness Center, will give a talk entitled Reducing Biochemical Stress, Improving Health on Thursday December 4, 7:30 p.m. at the Washington Township Public Library. This is part of a continuing series of talks Dr. Mike is giving about improving health through reducing physical, biochemical and emotional stresses in one's life. Discover what stress really is, see specific examples of how positive and negative biochemical stressors affect you, and learn simple steps you can take to re-balance yourself.

Christmas in Long Valley House Tour

The 25th Annual Historic House Tour is Saturday, December 6, 2008 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Tour historic homes at your own pace. Guides are located in each house to tell the history. A House Tour book is included with a history and photograph of each house. Complimentary home-baked refreshments will be served in our Museum all day and lovely crafts made by the Washington Township Historical Society Crafts Group will be available for sale. Our tour has been ranked in the top ten best holiday house tours by NJ Countryside magazine. Tickets are $20 per person All proceeds benefit the Washington Township Historical Society & Museum. Tickets may be purchased at our Museum located on 6 Fairview Avenue in Long Valley on Sunday, November 30 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; Friday, Dec. 5 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Saturday, December 6 starting at 10 a.m.

Pet Pictures with Santa

Hoffman's Supply True Value is holding the annual Pet/Animal Picture with Santa, raising money for ICOWTA (Interfaith Community Outreach of Washington Township Association) to "adopt" local families. Photos are free either with a new unwrapped toy, or with a $5.00 donation. Come out, have fun and support a great cause! Please don't forget the leash. Saturday, December 6, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Collection for the Paws

From December 1 - 21, the Long Valley Dog Park is sponsoring its second annual "Collection for the Paws" to benefit Noah's Ark and Eleventh Hour Rescue.
